Rose Island Lighthouse Bluegrass Benefit Concert

This is a huge thank-you to the folks at the Rose Island Lighthouse and Fort Hamilton Trust for hosting a fantastic Bluegrass Benefit Concert on Rose Island this Sunday. About sixty people came over on the ferry to hear two excellent bluegrass bands: Three Sheets to the Wind—featuring RILFHT Executive Director Brian Tefft on guitar/lead vocals—and The South County Rounders—starring my husband Chris on the fiddle. Everyone sat out on the lush lighthouse lawn, munched juicy burgers made by Brian’s lovely wife Veronica, and listened as the talented musicians performed such old-time classics as Jerusalem Ridge, Dark Hollow, and Red-Haired Boy. The Lighthouse Trust invited me to sell my books at the event so I was fortunate enough to be able to join in on the all-day festivities and got to meet some fascinating people in the process.

Thanks to the bands, Lighthouse Trust staff, and volunteers who truly made this a wonderful day enjoyed by all!
